The remit of the Safety Committee incorporates all matters relating to safety in anaesthetic practice. The Committee responds to requests for opinions from members of the Association, the pharmaceutical industry and manufacturers of anaesthetic and ventilatory equipment. A close liaison is maintained with the Department of Health (DoH), the Medical Devices Directorate, the medical defence organisations and the British Respiratory Equipment Manufacturers Association (BAREMA).
