On behalf of the Committee may I apologise to members for the short notice cancellation of the 9th Open Meeting due to be held in Stirling on 26th February 2010.

The decision to cancel was not taken lightly, given all the hard work undertaken by the presenters and organisers in preparing for the meeting and the commitment of the delegates to attending. The extreme weather and travel conditions of the 25th February and the forecast for the 26th February meant that the Council Executive and the Standing Committee had to make a decision about the viability of the meeting. Paramount in the decision was the safety of people travelling to and from Stirling for the meeting. We could not ensure the attendance of our presenters, some coming from the cut-off north, and similarly of our delegates.

For this reason, we cancelled the meeting at 14.00hr on the 25th February. Every effort was made to contact registered delegates. The website contains a headline note of the cancellation and linkmen have been asked to help disseminate the information to minimise any inconvenience to potential delegates who may have chosen to register on the day.
