ORAL (FREE PAPER) AND POSTER PRESENTATIONS

Abstracts are invited for oral or poster presentation. Papers will be judged using three categories: Original Research, Audit and Case Reports or Case Series. Prizes will be awarded to the authors of the best free paper in each of the three categories, as judged by a panel of experts, and to the authors of the best poster(s). Abstracts must conform to the journal’s usual ethical, methodological and statistical standards. The abstracts of free papers accepted for oral presentation and the abstracts of the winning poster presentations will be eligible for publication in Anaesthesia.

Abstracts should be labelled as “AC-1st author-brief topic” (e.g. “AC-Smith-morphine”) and emailed to secretariat@aagbi.org, with the submission form emailed as a scanned image or faxed to +44 (0)20 7631 4352. The closing date for submission is Friday 13 June 2008 and abstract authors will be contacted by 4 August to inform them if their abstracts have been accepted for presentation.

The PowerPoint presentations for those papers accepted for oral presentation should be emailed to the above address before Friday 29 August. Free papers will be presented on Wednesday 17, Thursday 18 and Friday 19 September. Eight minutes will be allowed for the presentation, followed by a two or three minute period for questions. Poster presenters will be sent further instructions if selected to present. All presenters must register for the meeting and are entitled to the early booking rate. Travel and accommodation will not be reimbursed by the Association of Anaesthetists.
