Education

The AAGBI has as one of its main objects the advancement of education in and the promotion of those branches of medical science concerned with anaesthesiology. Education therefore remains a prime objective and to this end it runs a popular Educational programme, open to both members and non-Members.

Meetings and Seminars

Association meetings are widely recognised by anaesthetists as highlights of the medical calendar, providing a unique opportunity for anaesthetic colleagues to discuss advances and debate issues in the specialty. The Association runs three main scientific conferences a year: WSM London (January), Annual Congress (September) and an annual trainees conference – the GAT ASM (July), together with an in-house seminar programme, a series of one-day meetings and an expanding and increasingly popular programme of nationwide Core Topics meetings. For more information and to book onto one of these meetings, please visit the Events Section of the website.

The AAGBI encourages industry sponsorship to enable the expansion and improvement of its educational events programme, and would welcome the opportunity to continue to work closely with Industry in this area. For more information please visit the sponsorship section of the website or contact Claire Elliott, Telephone: 020 7631 8817 or Email: claireelliott@aagbi.org

CPD

The AAGBI Foundation has launched a series of educational podcasts called “AAGBI Foundation CPoDcasts”, aimed at AAGBI members who wish to develop and maintain their knowledge in core topic areas of anaesthesia. These podcasts will allow members to gain useful CPD while waiting between cases, driving to work or taking short breaks during the day.
