Anaesthesia in infants and young children

Following a recent Drug Safety Communication from the U.S. FDA (http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/DrugSafety/ucm532356.htm) about the use of general anaesthesia and sedation in young children, the AAGBI is working with the Association of Paediatric Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland (APAGBI) and the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCoA) on guidance for anaesthetists. This information will be ready for publication within the next few weeks.

In the meantime, the APAGBI’s guidance for parents and carers of young children is being revised and will be available on their website shortly. We will post a link to this document as soon as it is published.
