National Safety Standards for Invasive Procedures (NatSSIPs)
NHS England has released NatSSIPs (National Safety Standards for Invasive Procedures). NatSSIPs is a high-level framework of national standards of operating department practice. Developed in response to the recommendations of the Surgical Never Events Taskforce report, NatSSIPs has been created for local providers to use to develop and maintain their own more detailed standardised local operating procedures. Written under the chairmanship of our own William Harrop-Griffiths, these standards are intended to sit alongside and complement existing safeguards, including the WHO Checklist in the ongoing action against Never Events.
