Liver Intensive Care Group of Europe

The Liver Intensive Care Group of Europe (LICAGE) was founded in 1987 to bring together from throughout Europe workers of all disciplines involved in the peri-operative care of liver transplant recipients. The aim of the group is to foster communication, and to stimulate and share advances in the scientific understanding & clinical management of patients requiring liver surgery including transplantation.

Paediatric Intensive Care Society

The Paediatric Intensive Care Society was founded in 1987 as a multidisciplinary society for professionals interested and involved in the care of critically ill children. The Society aims to provide a forum for discussion and specialist advice relating to the care of critically ill children. The Society also aims to provide training for nurses and doctors persuing a career in paediatric critical care. The Society has an annual scientific meeting in the autumn and the council meets 4 times a year.

Society of Bariatric Anaesthetists (SOBA)

Society of Bariatric Anaesthetists (SOBA) is a newly formed specialist society for anaesthetists interested in anaesthesia and critical care for Bariatric surgical and other morbidly obese patients.
The society aims to provide a forum whereby specialists in this area, and others with an interest,  can communicate as well as exchange information and other relevant data.   It will also provide a voice  for those working within the speciality, representing their views and interests.  SOBA will encourage the formation of research networks and provide guidelines for anesthetising obese patients”. UK Society for Intravenous Anaesthesia (SIVA UK)

The object of the Society is to promote education and facilitate research into the use of drugs administered intravenously in anaesthesia and science related thereto, and to disseminate and help implement the useful results of such research for the public benefit.
