London to Dublin Cycle

Join us on our four-day sponsored bike ride from our London headquarters to Annual Congress in Dublin and help raise money to improve anaesthesia education and care in Africa in the long-term. We will set off on the morning of Friday 21 September 2018 and arrive in Dublin on Monday 24 September 2018.

The route promises to be a lot of fun and will be a great opportunity to raise money for the AAGBI’s new fundraising campaign, SAFE Africa.

Riders of all ages and abilities are invited, as long as you have a degree of cycle fitness and some experience of cycling on public roads. There will be a support vehicle and experienced cyclists to help along the way.

Booking information
There is an entry fee of £50 per day (£200 total to do the full four days). This will cover the operational costs of the cycle ride such as the support vehicle and driver.

Day 1 Friday 21 September 2018 (morning) London - Banbury (76 miles)
Day 2 Saturday 22 September 2018 Banbury - Shrewsbury (87 miles)

Sunday 23 September 2018

Shrewsbury - Llandudno

Day 4

Monday 24 September 2018

Llandudno to Holyhead, then ferry to Dublin

Accommodation

There will be overnight stops in Banbury, Shrewsbury and Llandudno. You will need to arrange your own accommodation and book your ferry crossing between Hollyhead and Dublin. Many of our cyclists are staying at local Premier Inns. Make sure that you book as soon as possible so that you get a room:

Arrange insurance
