About The Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland (AAGBI)
As the professional membership organisation for over 11,000 anaesthetists in the UK and Ireland, the AAGBI promotes patient care and safety, and advances anaesthesia through education, publications, research and international work, as well as the professional aspects of the specialty.

We are in the process of modernising and transforming to deliver our long-term strategy. This sets out our vision to be the membership organisation of choice for anaesthetists by providing high quality and high value member services. We are currently re-branding and transitioning to a new CRM and website/content management system (CMS). This will transform communication with our members and the services on offer.

Non-executive Lay Member - Finance, Audit and Investment Committee
The Association of Anaesthetists of Great Britain and Ireland (AAGBI) is seeking to appoint two lay members to its Finance, Audit & Investment Committee, This is an exciting time to join the committee. Our new long-term strategy, published in 2017, sets out an ambitious vision and much strategic change is taking place including re-branding and digitalization. Income generation is a strategic priority for future sustainability and to finance future aspirations. This calls for development of a longer-term finance strategy, which is a new work stream for the Finance Committee.

The Finance, Audit & Investment Committee plays a key role in the organisation’s governance, reporting to the Board.  Current membership of the committee includes two lay members, who are completing their term of office in September after three years in the role. The committee is now recruiting to fill these two vacancies which offer an opportunity to contribute to the strategic development and financial strategy of a leading medical organisation dedicated to promoting patient safety and quality of care in this country and worldwide.
