Anaesthetic Assessors for MBRRACE-UK Confidential Enquiries into Maternal Deaths

The RCoA/OAA is seeking to appoint new anaesthetic and critical care assessors for the MBRRACE-UK Confidential Enquiries into Maternal Deaths. In the first instance we are seeking to appoint four national assessors (two anaesthetic, two critical care) to replace existing assessors who have come to the end of their term. The team of assessors is geographically representative of the four UK nations and regionally representative within England. It is anticipated that assessors will be expected to review 15-20 cases per year. The initial term for assessors will be three years, renewable for a further three years. It is anticipated that most work will be undertaken electronically and therefore travel will not be required, with the exception of travel to an annual training meeting, for which travel expenses will be provided. The position is otherwise not remunerated but assessment work may be considered as part of continuing professional development.
